The assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. couldn't end racism. The elections of Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama couldn't end racism. But CNN thinks an above-average Asian point guard has a good shot. First let's see if Jeremy Lin can end the Knicks' decade-long tendency for finishing the season below .500, then we can judge him on his ability to solve humanity's centuries-long tendency to hate one another based on skin color. And if CNN was referring only to the end of racism towards Lin himself, they might want to check with their journalistic brethren at The New York Post and ESPN. Pretty sure the answer is a flat "nope."
