The Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers are battling it out in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, as the NHL playoffs continue their inexorable march toward the Stanley Cup Finals. The series is tied at 3-3 as the teams prepare to suit up for tomorrow night's deciding Game 7 match-up. Sounds pretty intense, huh? Doesn't seem necessary to ratchet up the drama by comparing the players to 9/11 firefighters and policemen, right? WRONG! The CBC's Ron MacLean knows that playoff hockey is a matter of life and death and planes crashing into buildings and flames and people jumping out of windows and mourning loved ones. Yes, as you enjoy this series, think about the most tragic day in American history, and remember what those terrorists tried to take away from us — the freedom to sound like a jack-ass on TV.
