Another Ballston Loop Run
I missed the cold rain because I started the run quite late. I need to sort out my Nokia N95 8GB because I use it as a phone, as a podcast player, and, using Sport Tracker, I can track my run, my pace (slow) and my route using the built-in GPS. Unfortunately, I ran out of batts so, for the last couple miles, I didn’t have any tracking or any podcasts.

I am trying really hard to get back into running. I love to run! Instead of being tempted by a Forerunner 305 or 405, I am using my Nokia N95 8GB in association with its GPS and Sports Tracker — and I love it! It is everything I need and it is also my phone and my media center and my podcast player and also a camera and video player. If you want to see my mad attempt at a daily run/walk, please feel free to stalk me and my online workout. Weather for Arlington, VA, 22203: 35°F, Rain.

5.365 miles killed me today in the heat
I took three hours tromping around this afternoon from 3-6PM, walking in the heat and reading all of the remaining newspapers, to the tune of 5.265 miles and 1,177 calories … and, oddly, it kicked my ass. Oh well, that’s cool. I stopped and got a couple Gatorades and the like. It’s good for me, right? Ha!

FitDay is a pretty interesting fitness journal
My decision to download FitDay was based solely on the recomendation of a friend who is always trying to get more fit, more ripped, and healthier. So, I have entered my food intake and my exercise and my mood and my weight for a couple days now.
I assume I don’t have to be too obsessive yet, but I do need some measuring tools such as a kitchen scale and that sort of thing, but for now, I think it will be good enough to try to just eyeball my intake to get into the habit, to make sure I maintain the log.
Simpler the better. We’ll see if FitDay works for me. I plan to take another 3-hour walk today around the city, reading papers, and getting some exercise. When I lose a little more weight, I will get back to daily jogs, which will accellerate things substantially. Wish me luck!
