Tampa Bay Rays to give away mutant toy that will haunt your children's dreams.
posted 5 hours agoMeet 'Zim Bear', the ungodly mutant spawn of Rays coach Don Zimmer and a bear. Isn't he/it terrifying? Of course he/it is. Great news though, according to the Rays promotional schedule, this hideous creep-beast will be given away at the June 29th Rays home game. That's right, given away. For free! So if your kids happen to be in the market for a stuffed animal/person that will more than likely be the emotionally damaging first step in their growing up to be a serial killer, mark your calendars!

posted 7 hours agoWe saw this during last night's Kansas State-Missouri game and at first wanted to believe this kid was giving a halfhearted fist pump. However, upon further inspection, mainly of the part of his mouth that looks like it has an invisible penis in it, it's safe to say he is instead pretending to give a halfhearted blowjob. Oh, to be young and degenerate again.
[ Via deadspin ]The 9 most absurdly flawed captions in sports television history.
posted 7 hours agoIn the fast-paced world of TV sports journalism, mistakes are bound to happen. You might mislabel a player's chyron, misspell a team name, or get a stat wrong. And there's always the odd unthinkably racist headline that makes its way to the screen. But there's still no excuse for these egregiously inappropriate or patently absurd errors that eagle-eyed citizen journalists have captured and posted to the Internet for our collective enjoyment and head-shaking.
[ Via mocksession ]MUST-SEE VIDEO: Terrifying pro athlete threatens to do to Chris Brown what Chris Brown did to Rihanna.
posted 9 hours agoWWE Champion and genuine badass CM Punk just gave up "not beating the crap out of Chris Brown" for Lent. He and the Rihanna-bashing R&B singer have been in a quickly escalating war of words on Twitter. After Mr. Punk mentioned his desire for "curb stomping that turd," Mr. Brown then inaccurately accused Punk of taking steroids — perhaps the lamest comeback in Twitter-war history. Mr. Punk, tired of wasting time on "a sad, cowardly little boy" like Brown, created this video last night, challenging Brown to a fight with the proceeds going to a women’s shelter of his choosing. So let's all spend our Ash Wednesday praying our brains out that this brawl actually takes place.

posted 10 hours agoWhile not all athletes can have a mockable name like Ivana Mandic or Sally Mangina, sometimes, with a little help from their closest (in proximity) friends, a row of ordinary last names can be turned into pure comedic gold. Here are our 6 favorite instances of just that.
Clever fan sign single-handedly lays to rest 108-year old Michigan/Ohio State rivalry.
posted 11 hours agoWell, there you have it folks. With nothing but a poster board, a set of magic markers, and a Google search of "Famous Ohio State and Michigan fans," this UM student buried one of college football's oldest and most heated rivalries. Sorry, Ohio. If it's any consolation, try and remember that Detroit is in Michigan.

[ Via sportsgrid ]CNN finds way to write more ridiculous Jeremy Lin headline than ESPN did.
posted yesterdayThe assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. couldn't end racism. The elections of Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama couldn't end racism. But CNN thinks an above-average Asian point guard has a good shot. First let's see if Jeremy Lin can end the Knicks' decade-long tendency for finishing the season below .500, then we can judge him on his ability to solve humanity's centuries-long tendency to hate one another based on skin color. And if CNN was referring only to the end of racism towards Lin himself, they might want to check with their journalistic brethren at The New York Post and ESPN. Pretty sure the answer is a flat "nope."

posted yesterdayEither someone at Google has it in for Ohio State University and their multiple NCAA rule infractions, or Google maps have become surprisingly self-aware. If the latter it true, expect to see a map showing Reggie Bush's house with a caption "Heisman Trophy used to be here" very soon.
